Colic by definition is severe pain in the abdomen caused by wind or obstruction in the intestines and suffered especially by babies
It is very common for babies to suffer from a range of digestive issues, including reflux, wind, colic and cramping. Infant Massage assists to provide relief from much of the pain associated with digestive issues in infancy.
One of the most difficult things as a new parent is the feeling of helplessness; seeing your baby suffer in pain. Be it “silent reflux”, wind, constipation or any number of other triggers that cause them to feel discomfort, their cries of pain are a natural response to the physical sensation they are experiencing. So what can we do as parents? After feeding your infant, ensure they are kept upright and burped to release air and prevent it from moving down where it will cause pain once it becomes trapped in the intestines. If your infant does experience pain from wind, or they have been diagnosed as a “colicky baby” – Massage is one way to help relieve the pain and often overcome it.
During the course, I will demonstrate how to apply specific techniques which will assist to make your infant more comfortable when they are experiencing pain related to wind and other digestive issues. Strokes that target the abdomen and yoga stretches are most beneficial.
