Parent Groups – The importance of socialisation for new parents and their babies

Attending the Baby Love Infant Massage Program is a great way to meet other new parents and form parent groups. Meeting other parents who can relate to common parenting issues, often leads to an invaluable support network. Sharing ideas and exchanging stories is and enjoyable experience, and often normalises the huge transition a new baby brings to the dynamics of the family. If you connect well with other parents, you may look forward to playdates and coffee catch ups and have some adult conversation while enjoying your time off work on parental leave.  The sociability for parents and babies is one of my favourite aspects of the program. Participants are encouraged to form parent groups once the program reaches its conclusion.

Parent groups can also be found locally within our community. The Hobart Mums Network is now affiliated with the Child Health Association of Tasmania

New parents can locate activities such as pram walking groups and Facebook groups, to connect with other new parents and families within Southern Tasmania
